The Community Foundation accepts grant applications for a variety of funding opportunities. Each category or focus has different guidelines and timelines. We also have a limited number of scholarships to help current and future students to pursue undergraduate and graduate education, professional development and other educational enrichment opportunities.
The majority of our open competitive grantmaking falls into two main categories: Capacity Building and Program Support. Any 501c3 in our service area (Duval, Clay, Baker, St. Johns, Nassau and Putnam counties) may apply for EITHER a Capacity Building OR a Program Support grant in any given year.
Please note: There is a special application for nonprofit organizations with annual budgets of less than $200,000 to apply for either of these competitive grants with an application process designed especially for small organizations.
The Community Foundation also accepts grant applications in other focus areas where donors have requested that we oversee grantmaking decisions or where we have an established initiative with a funding source. Each has different guidelines and timelines and are listed below.
Supports nonprofit organizations serving the Beaches communities from Mayport to Guana, east of the Intracoastal Waterway.
Open to nonprofit organizations that support women and girls in Northeast Florida.

The Community Foundation is host to a number of scholarship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate education. Applications for scholarships are open from January through March each year. The 2024 Scholarship applications are closed.
