Our Impact

LGBTQ Community Fund

Grant Application Opening Soon

The LGBTQ Community Fund supports nonprofit organizations that support the LGBTQ community in Northeast Florida.

Created in 2014, the LGBTQ Community Fund brings together individuals focused on building an inclusive and welcoming environment, while celebrating and supporting Northeast Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. Through collective giving, research and strategic grantmaking, the Fund changes and adapts with the world around us, to meet new needs as they are presented in our community.

A Welcoming & Inclusive Community

The LGBTQ Community Fund has awarded more than $1 million in funding to date, making substantial grants to organizations representing LGBTQ youth, LGBTQ elders and LGBTQ on-campus services. The Fund has also invested $168,000 in local research and convenings to improve the lives of those in the LGBTQ community. Explore the research about the needs of the local LGBTQ community here.

House of Hope

Funding for House of Hope, a collaboration between Youth Crisis Center, Changing Homelessness and JASMYN, effectively expanded the gender-neutral emergency shelter to help bring LGBTQ individuals ages 18-24 out of homelessness.

Elder Care

With the Fund’s help, ElderSource was able to successfully launch a national LGBTQ Sensitivity Training Program, resulting in training for 850 caregivers, and creating an LGBTQ Elder Friendly Certification for businesses.

Nonprofit Inclusion

A multi-year investment in the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida led to the development of an Employee Resource Group, Emerging Leaders Program, conference and other vital resources to promote LGBTQ inclusion in the nonprofit sector.

10th Anniversary Celebration

In 2017, the LGBTQ Community Fund celebrated its fifth anniversary and announced the creation of an endowment, with generous support from Delores Barr Weaver and the Chartrand Family, which supports annual grantmaking. In 2024, the Fund celebrated its 10th anniversary with the announcement that the endowment is growing to ensure support for the LGBTQ community lasts in perpetuity. Read the news release.
